Winter Camp 2010

GEM-K Snowboard

Be sure to save the dates for winter camp in your calender: January 2nd-6th. Once again we'll be at Camp des Cimes in the French Alps (just outside Grenoble) for some snowboarding, skiing, sledding, snowball fights, hot chocolate and some great conversations with God. Sign ups will be coming out shortly. For now, get excited.

GEM-K Conference Memories

Well, we're all in the midst of recovery from GEM-K Conference 2009. What a crazy hotel that was!!! Here are my memories. Please share yours.

Henna. Lots of henna.

Toilet bowl waterslide.

Prague pirates.

Luke's piano skillz.

Laser tag with Eoin.

Lion King.

Mechanical bull.

Water balloons.

Meat platters.

Most of all, I remember great times getting to know you all better, hear what's going on in your hearts and share what's going on with mine. Below are some photos of the GEM-K photos I have posted on my flickr page. If you'd like to download any of them in full resolution simply sign up with flickr, become my contact and when I add you as a contact you're set.

Oh, and don't forget to share your favorite memories.

A Year of Transition

Matt & Hailey Prague
At Conference this year we shared some really hard news, namely that God was moving us away from GEM-K Ministries and into something new. When we originally signed up with GEM-K Ministries we committed to it for five years. We wanted to be something consistent in your lives which often tend to be full of changes. As we approached our fourth year Hailey and I decided to take some time in prayer and ask God what he would have us do. As we prayed both Hailey and I felt God asking us to pass on GEM-K Ministries as he wanted to take us in a new direction. We love each GEM-K deeply and so this decision has gone through much wise counsel and prayer. We're not sure what God has for us yet but we know that He will be faithful in directing us.

This year will thus be a year of transition. We will still be leading GEM-K Ministries and running camps but we will also be passing on responsibilities to those replacing us.

Hailey and I cannot express how much it hurts to leave this ministry but also know that it is what we must do. We love you so much and will obviously continue to be your friends and counselors.
